Online Payment Options


Golden Key Rentals offers several options that allow tenants to make payments electronically.

All of these options can be accessed in the tenant portal (either through a web browser or in the app) on the "Payments" page.

The fees listed below are as of September, 2026 and they could change over time.

Golden Key Rentals does not receive any of the fees listed below. The fees are kept by the payment processing company.

There are 4 available options, however, only 2 are available when paying your security deposit and first month's rent at move in.

The 4 available options are:

  1. Using your bank account number and routing number.
    • The cost is $2.49 per transaction.
    • This is the most cost effective option.
  2. Using a debit card - this is the first of the 2 options available when paying your security deposit and first month's rent at move in.
    • The cost is $9.99 per transaction.
  3. Using a credit card - this is the second of the 2 options available when paying your security deposit and first month's rent at move in.
    • The cost is 2.99% of the transaction amount.
    • This is the most expensive option.
    • An $800 payment will cost $23.92.
    • A $1,500 payment will cost $44.85.
    • While this is a perfectly acceptable payment option, we recommend that tenants avoid this option if possible due to the high fees.
  4. Electronic Cash Payments (Payslip).
    • This allows you to effectively pay with cash.
    • The cost is $4.99 per transaction.
    • You take a pay slip with a bar code unique to you to any Walgreens, Walmart or CVS.
    • You can print the bar code on paper or you can save it to your phone.
    • You can download a pay slip with your unique bar code in your tenant portal under “Payments”.
    • You can also find a list of locations near you there in your portal.
    • If you have been restricted from making regular online payments because of past bounced payments or because you are currently behind, this will be your only available electronic payment option.
    • Tenants under eviction status will not be allowed to use this option and will have to pay in the office with either cashier's check or money orders.
    • The following maximum single payment limits apply.
      • Walgreens - $1,999.99
      • CVS - $2,000.00
      • WalMart - $2,999.99
